Lyrics
Verse I

Savannah, church and schoolgirl crush
Barn dance every Friday night
GunnerJames crossed the dance floor
He don't know all her Life Goals to rule the world

Chorus

And I will be heard And will be seen
The world won't waylay me,
And you won't be mean
I will climb Everest, and Surf in the Gold Coast.
The world won't waylay me
And I will rule the world.

Verse II

GunnerJames lived in Circleville
High School always team captain
Brazen trail led to nowhere
Father hated his Life Goal to rule the world

Chorus
And I will be heard And will be seen
The world won't waylay me,
And you won't be mean
I will climb Everest, and Surf in the Gold Coast.
The world won't waylay me
And I will rule the world.

Refrain
And I will ski Jackson
Dive in the Red Sea...

Sentinel on TV !

As you all know, I am member of this indie group. And here is the latest:
Last night we were on Paralta.tv broadcast on local TV channels in East Bay Cities. You can catch the podcast version of it at and look for 9th Floor Radio shows at: www.peralta.tv.
Last weekend, our song 'All Her Ways' was found show worthy by Live 105 Soundcheck, playing local indie music of all flavors.
This is exciting because WXRT in Chicago, heard that show and now sister station in the midwest wants to play us! It's truly a deliscious avalanche that they want to hear our music.

Now Sentinel members are taking trips abroad and of course it makes us sad to turn shows down in the San Francisco area. We'll be back in full force on 8/24 for our show at Beckett's Irish Pub. No cover at the door, and must be 21 and older.

We'll be hitting the ground running: check out calendar at: www.gathermanproductions.com.

yours,

Sentinel Dream Band Describe Their Sound

People often ask what does your band sounds like?...and I am always at odds to give a straight, concise answer that won't lead them astray. How does one describe a unique sound? But by comparing to other well-known bands that most people have heard of. So here is a quick description from Wikipedia.org that gives a flavor of what our sound is like: “Dream pop is a type of alternative rock that originated in the early 1980s when bands like Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, and A.R. Kane (to whom the term has been attributed) began twisting New Wave melodies into sonic, echoing textures and mumbled vocals. The term was mostly used in the United States. In the late 1980s, several varieties of dream-pop emerged, primarily in Britain. These included shoegazing and space rock. In the late 1980s and 1990s, a number of dream pop bands emerged in the United States, including Galaxie 500, Mazzy Star, and His Name is Alive. More recently bands like The Dandy Warhols and Hinterland have had the label attributed to them. Dream pop has influenced artists of other genres, such as Deftones and The Smashing Pumpkins.” So there you have an encyclopedia-type-definition, that somewhat describes Sentinel music. I would also add that our sound has a lot of U2 and Flock of Seagulls influence. The solid vocal parts & lyrics that are decipherable, come from Olivia Newton-John, Linda Ronstadt, Pat Benatar, and the like of youthful influences. The list of influences could go on & on, but the truth is, all musicians are influenced by what came before, and the ever-present "collective unconscious" that Jung, the psychologist often expounded on. We are all connected at some level. Happy Holidays! Tarabud ~
