Summer of 2015 - Love Had, Love Lost, & More

What we always seek to find is unconditional regard or even unconditional love. We can't always get that or let alone give it, well *DARN* (insert your own word here), that is why we have music, to get us through the cracks of life, over the bridges, where there is another possibility, and we can start over, try again, try something different, sing a different tune. There is something always moving us forward through life, call it whatever you may; and this is where our new album ~ Points of Light ~  fits into your summer playlist! Full albums are rare and at the same a treasure to be discovered in this world of singles and free downloads. You can listen to the 10 song album on this Soundcloud Playlist, full of life themes, ideas, and dreams:

Early Spring Update

Sentinel had a vision meeting while walking in the rain today through
our neighborhood of Oakland. Nature is blooming, so green and damp
everywhere. Wonderful. We had visions, but the main decision was to
write new music, new tunes that represent more of the mood we are
feeling now; a sense of growth, through so much change and
deconstruction. In summary we'd like to make a moody & spatial
album with more of the influences that we enjoy hearing in music. We
went back and our drummer laid down some new drum tracks. Check back to
hear more about how we continue to make new creations.

BY: CHARLES STEPCZYK
Sentinel

Oakland dream-pop favorites Sentinel recently sent us a cover of Let it Snow, just in time for the holidays. Originally released in 1945 as “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!”, it hit number one on the Billboard charts the following year.
If you like the track, they are offering it up for free in the spirit of the holidays.
Happy holidays to you and yours on behalf of Sentinel and the Insomnia Radio crew. Cheers.

Glasswerk.co.uk review

"Kites" Album review by Glasswerks in UK
Category: Music

Sentinel are back again. Kites Without Strings is a fairly short album (8 tracks) but its packing a punch. They seem far bolder than ever before – rocking up the rock aspect of their act as well as the vocals being as dreamy as ever.

What is perplexing about Sentinel is that they seem to have been around far longer than they actually have. There has been two previous albums and even a Singles album passed through the Glasswerk reviews. And yet they have only been an act since 2006.

Its nice then to see that they have retained their image and also checking out what they can do with it. 'Kites Without String's in an altogether friendlier affair and probably their most pop album so far. A bit of easy access won't hamper their artistic integrity.

Founding members Dennis Bestafka and Tarabud the Guitarist and Vocalist respectively are probably the two members that carry the most signifying sound that is Sentinel. That doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon. Sentinel are therefore blessed with a sound that is immediately identifiable. 'Kites Without Strings' continues that sound. Sentinel now has a solid back catalogue that they can now hope will stretch overseas and grab new listeners. And anyone who likes the sound of a track they may hear is bound to find it easy to like the rest of their wonderful collection.
